For more than 25 years, I’ve had the privilege—and continue to have the honor—of working at the center of the work truck and truck equipment industry on the manufacturing side of the business. Throughout that time, I’ve lived the same challenges faced by manufacturers today: building routes to market, supporting distributors and upfitters, launching equipment, and spending real time with end-users focused on practical applications and value. That perspective—earned, not observed—shaped the way I see the industry and ultimately led to the creation of Work Truck Incyte.
As the work truck industry continues to grow and evolve, one challenge remains constant: access to accurate, usable information. Sales teams, distributors, truck equipment dealers, and end-users continue to ask the same questions—Who manufactures this equipment? Who represents it in my area? Where can I find compatible products? While the demand for answers has only increased, there has never been a single, reliable source that captures the full landscape of the work truck equipment market in one place.
The idea began simply. Identify truck equipment manufacturers by product category. Create dealer locator maps for internal and external use. Understand partner networks, market coverage, and competitive activity. Over time, those practical needs exposed a much larger gap in the work truck industry—the absence of a unified, structured view of who’s who and where they operate.
That gap became the foundation for something bigger.
